The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze, New York

Happening in Croton-On-Hudson, New York, this festival runs on September 17-October 31; November 3-7, 10-14, 18-21, 2021.

So what should you expect? Wander the grounds of historic Van Cortlandt Manor to take in the gourdgeous designs created from more than 7,000 jack-o’-lanterns. Meander through an 18th-century landscape and discover a breathtaking display of more than 7,000 illuminated jack o’ lanterns all designed and hand-carved on-site by a team of artisans. New for 2021, gawk at the always-impressive New York City skyline’s pumpkin treatment and take a stroll under the sea in our River of Light.

Complete with synchronized lighting and an original soundtrack, this one-of-a-kind event is not to be missed!

National Apple Harvest Festival, Pennsylvania

Apple Harvest Festival

This festival is happening in Arendtsville, Pennsylvania on October 2-3 and 9-10, 2021. This festival is a total dream come true for anyone who loves apple picking season. You’ll find booth after booth of apple treats, as well as festival fun like hayrides, puppet shows, and a petting zoo.

Coconut Grove Pumpkin Patch Festival, Miami

This festival is happening in Miami, Florida throughout October 2021! As evidenced by the name, the annual family-friendly event means thousands of pumpkins in every shape and size, ripe for the picking. But that’s hardly all—spend the weekend playing bumper cars at the carnival, taking a stab at the corn maze (if you dare), and, of course, making multiple visits to the pumpkin food court and beer bars.

Murphysboro Apple Festival, Illinois

Happening in Murphysboro, Illinois on September 15-18, 2021. This Illinois apple festival turns 70 this year, commemorating the local harvest with carnival rides, an arts and crafts fair, and lots of apples. For the strong-stomached, there’s even an apple pie-eating contest.

Celebrating the area apple harvest. Events include a downtown street carnival with rides and concessions, live nightly entertainment on the Appletime Stage, an arts & crafts fair, two parades, a high school marching band competition, car/truck/motorcycle show, queen scholarship pageant, walk/run race, and much more.

Don’t worry, we’re not going to Germany for this one! In fact, this festival is happening in Leavenworth, Washington between October 1-2, 8-9, and 15-16, 2021. Throughout the month of October, this quaint, Bavarian-style small town in Washington offers Oktoberfest activities, food, and live music in tents and outdoor spaces around town.

This year will be a “Street Fair Vibe” only.  Food and Vendor booths will be placed in our normal footprint.  There is NO scheduled entertainment, shuttles, or beer.

The plan is to host 100 unique local vendors, artists, and crafters for the first 3-weekends in October.  We will have all you favorite Oktoberfest food and the official Oktoberfest souvenirs on hand.  In addition to vendor booths, we will also host “Kinderplatz” a special area designed with kids in mind.

Although it’s not exactly the normal Oktoberfest that happens every year, it’s still worth checking it out and supporting local business wherever you can!

Louisiana Pecan Festival, Louisiana

This festival is taking place in Colfax, Louisiana on November 5-7. The sleepy town of Colfax comes alive for a jam-packed weekend of arts and crafts, cooking contests, carnival rides, food, music, and more—all to celebrate the humble pecan! Be sure to stay until the end of the night on Saturday to catch the fireworks show.

Trailing Of The Sheep Festival, Idaho

This festival is taking place in Sun Valley, Ketchum, and Hailey, Idaho between October 6th and 10th. Touted as one of the best festivals in the world, the annual event celebrates the migration of 1,500 sheep from the mountains to their winter pasture. Between the sheep parade, wool fest, a folklife fair and sheepdog trials, you’ll want to stay for several days.

Summary

Even if this year some events look a little different, make sure you check out these festivals and enjoy the most the fall season has to offer!
