Best Credit Card For Earning Free Flights

These Are The Best Credit Cards to Earn You a Free Flight in 2017

The best money I’ve ever spent has been on travel. Being able to explore new cultures, meet new people, and taste the amazing food of the world has been amazing.  The thing is, I had never left the country up until 3 years ago. I couldn’t afford it. There was no way I was going to sit in coach for 15 hours straight.

So what I did was teach myself how to fly around the world for free using airline miles?

Best Credti Cards For Travel

Most people assume to be able to fly using points, you need to travel a lot. Traveling on a plane definitely is a great way to earn points, but if your job doesn’t require travel, you can actually earn a ton of points using credit cards, without ever getting on a plane.  Most credit cards will help you earn points towards flights simply by making everyday purchases. Whether you are eating dinner or buying groceries, you can often put them on your card and earn points in no time at all.

We’ve narrowed down the 4 best credit cards that will earn you a free flight in 2017, so now it’s up to you to choose which one (or ones) you want.

CHASE SAPPHIRE RESERVE

With an annual fee of $450, this card can seem a bit steep. It does, however, come chock full of rewards. Customers receive up to $100 towards Global Entry or TSA Pre Check, access to 900+ airport lounges, and there are no blackout dates and/or travel restrictions.

The card also comes with a $300 travel credit which can be used for anything like seat upgrades, pet fees, meals and food purchased on board, etc.

CHASE SAPPHIRE PREFERRED

The Chase Sapphire Preferred annual fee is just $95. The best part? The first year is totally waived. Points can be earned pretty easily, with 2x points on travel and dining worldwide and 1x points on all other purchases.

Unfortunately, the Preferred card lacks many of the “perks” that Reserve members get, such as Pre Check, airport lounges, and travel credits. This is, however, the perfect card for someone just getting started with flying credits that doesn’t want to pay a high annual fee.

AMERICAN EXPRESS BUSINESS PLATINUM

Much like the Chase Reserve card, the AMEX platinum has an annual fee of $450.  Card holders receive up to $200 Credit a year for baggage fees, access to 1,000+ global airport lounges, no foreign transaction fees, complimentary internet access, and fee credit for Global Entry or TSA Pre✔.

They are also able to earn 2X by paying for Uber with American Express. Platinum card members receive $15 in Uber credits for U.S. rides every month PLUS a bonus of $20 in December ($200 annually).

BANK OF AMERICA TRAVEL REWARDS

This card has no annual fee, which makes it great for someone who is just starting to dip their toe into the world of using credit cards to earn points.

Card holders are also able to earn 20,000 bonus points by making least $1,000 in purchases in the first 90 days of opening their account. There are no blackout dates or restrictions on travel. However, unlike the more expensive cards, users are not provided airport lounges or other perks.
