What started out as the Annual Country Inn Herb Tour has grown into a full out celebration of regional cuisine, savory herbs and locally brewed beers. On the weekend of June 7-8, 2014, ten premier Mt. Washington Valley Country Inns will present the Herb, Food and Beer Tour. Tour participants will have the opportunity to see herb inspired cooking demonstrations at member inns, visit local breweries, chocolate makers and family-owed farms, sampling wonderful regional cuisine and home brews all along the way.
Five Inns will be open for the Saturday tour, and five different Inns on Sunday, when “each inn will present an in-depth look at a popular culinary herb and offer delicious samples of an herb-inspired recipe.” The Inns are open for the tour from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm each day. Four member inns with restaurants will also present cooking demonstrations and an optional three course “plant-to-plate” dinner. Lucky participants will bring home new herb garden inspirations and growing tips, delicious recipes, and a year filled with culinary ideas. In addition, tastings and demonstrations will take place at the Moat Mountain Brewery, Tuckerman’s Brewery, the Bavarian Chocolate Haus, The Local Grocer, and the Earle Family Farm and Weston’s Farm.
Each inn is offering special lodging packages for the weekend tour that include one or two night accommodation, herb-themed breakfasts each morning, two tickets to the tour, and the optional herb-inspired three course dinner for an additional fee. Visitors not wishing to purchase Inn Packages can purchase tickets between 5/11-6/2 for $40 per person by calling 207-935-1269. The optional three course dinners are available for $45 per person (not including tax, tip or beverages).
