Some destinations seem like they were built for ideal a summer family vacations – San Diego is one of them!

San Diego is one such city, with a huge number of attractions that will entertain both you and the kids. There is a diverse range of accommodations available, including the Hotel del Coronado, which is one of the oldest and most luxurious resorts in the area. 1. Sea World
San Diego is home to Sea World, a place where your family can enjoy watching and learning about fascinating marine life. The Penguin Encounter section is home to one of the planet’s most loved creatures, whilst the killer whale and sea lion shows are a must-see. Meanwhile, the shark tunnel allows the family to get up close and personal with some of these scary ocean predators, whilst a number of rides, including the thrilling Journey to Atlantis, offer an additional thrill and attraction for this popular park.
2. Legoland California
Only 30 minutes from San Diego you will find Legoland California. This is a wonderful park that has everything that you need to keep the kids happy for hours. Located in Carlsbad, Legoland California has a mini-golf course, an aquarium, live entertainment, various rides and a water park, in addition to the many Lego exhibits. Each ride also has a Lego station in the queue so that your little ones don’t get bored whilst they are waiting for the main event.
3. Coronado Beach
If you love to sunbathe and swim, then head to Coronado Beach. If you are staying at the Hotel del Coronado, you will be lucky enough to have this stretch of beautiful sand right on your doorstep. This beach is considered to be one of the best in southern California and has all the amenities and facilities that you will need for a great day in the sun.
4. San Diego Safari Zoo
Zoos are always a crowd pleaser for both adults and children; San Diego Safari Zoo is no exception. Unlike the majority of zoos in America, the animals in San Diego range free within their enclosures, interacting with other creatures. There is a range of ways in which you can explore the exhibits, including on a cart, by tram, a Segway, or even by using a zip line and whizzing above the animals’ heads. There is also a petting zoo so that children can get up close and personal with some of their favorite farmyard animals.
5. Knotts Soak City
If the sun is high in the sky and you are looking to cool down, then Knotts Soak City is the perfect place to head for. This water park contains everything that you would expect, including a wave pool, lazy river and a multitude of raft trips and body slides. One of the most thrilling rides is the Pacific Spin. This is a four-person ride where a raft swirls through a huge funnel, soaking everyone in the process. If you have little ones, then the large family fun house and the wading lagoon are great places to spend some time.
