I’m just back from a great trip to St. Maarten where I experienced BOTH of the popular Sonesta Hotels; the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort and the Sonesta Great Bay Beach Resort. (Both on Dutch side). The Sonesta Maho Beach Resort and Casino is conveniently located right next to the airport – you’ll be checking in minutes after clearing customs. The hotel has a city feel, although once inside the resort, you’ll find all the tropical amenities you would expect from a beach resort.
Last winter Clint and I were gazing out to sea at sunset from a funky beach bar on St. Kitts. Off in the distance was the most beautiful sailing ship gliding majestically through the bay with soft sunlight reflecting off its billowing sails. Right then and there I knew I had to get on that ship! A bit of detective work determined that the gorgeous 4 masted schooner was one of Star Clipper’s sailing ships and you guessed it… this winter we went sailing with Star Clipper on a journey through the Leeward Islands of the Caribbean. Join me on this memorable journey:
Not all of us want to escape the cold, now do we? Wicked Good Travel Tips has already touched on Quebec City, but for those who are looking to linger in the winter, here are a few can’t miss travel suggestions :

There’s nothing like taking a ride in a brand new car or vacationing at a glittering new hotel that’s been primped and polished to impress all who enter. While the slow economy has diminished the number of new hotel construction projects in recent years, the winter of 2012 will still see some impressive new additions. […]
Chip and Pin credit cards issued in the United States have been on the wish list of international travelers for quite some time now, and I, for one, am ready to sing hallelujah at the announcement that Chip and Pin cards are being introduced by several US banks.

If you’ve ever seen Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho you may have reservations (if you’ll pardon the pun) about staying in suspicious guest houses. If, however, you have a fond taste for the bizarre, macabre, or just downright ridiculous, then you may want to consider checking in to some of these strange delights from around the world… Just be careful when having a shower.

A river cruise offers a very unique way of travelling. The Ships are much smaller than their ocean-bound counterparts, with an average sized river ship carrying around 150 passengers, giving you the opportunity to soak up scenery that cruise liners simply cannot access.
I’ve just put a sample pack from Neutrogena to the ‘travel test’ and I have to say I loved these new products. Don’t you just hate slathering on sunblock and feeling like a sticky, greasy mess? Neutrogena seems to have the perfect solution. I’ve always been a fan of Neutrogena sunblock products for their broad spectrum UVA and […]
The number of Travel Apps being introduced to the mobile marketplace is astounding. It seems every day our ‘Wicked Good’ email box is filled with news of Apps just begging for a try out. Since neither Linda or I have an iPhone, we usually have to wait for the Android and Blackberry version to come along – which means […]
One of the best things about the modern world is the spread of cultures. You can easily find a dozen or more restaurants serving foreign food in any large city. Before a trip to Greece for instance, why not visit a local Greek restaurant to familiarize yourself with the cuisine? Make sure it’s as authentic as possible
