The Toy Fair is huge and there is so much to see and learn about. There are lots of new toys that are perfect for a road trip, dinner out, a plane trip, or anywhere you need to go. I was lucky enough to meet with lots of great new up and coming entrepreneurs, who have incredible visions of what kids would love to play with. There were so many to discuss, so sit back and get ready for the toy travel ride…

Best Fall Getaways Where Off Season Prices Are A Bargain
Falls is a wonderful time to go traveling. Days are still warm, evenings are cool and comfortable, and nature puts on a show for all of us to marvel at. What makes fall travel even more enticing is off-season bargain prices in much of the world. From New England to California, north and south, everyone has their red marker out, crossing out the high season prices and lowering them for savvy off-season travelers.
The Finger Lakes Region of up-state New York has always been known for its beauty and abundance of acclaimed vineyards. While most travelers are drawn to the southern region to visit Watkins Glen, Hammondsport and Corning; I’d like to draw your attention further north to the delightful city and lake known as Canandaigua.
Come along on our exploration of the Canandaigua Lake area to discover acclaimed vineyards, craft breweries and fine cuisine.
Famous TV and Movie Coffee Shop Hangouts
All of our favorite TV sitcom shows seem to have a comfy neighborhood coffee shop where all the popular characters gather to exchange their inner-most feelings and to share a laugh or two, even if it is supplied by a phony laugh-track…. Even so, travelers love to search out the real diners and coffee shops that were used as TV settings. Probably Tom’s Restaurant in Manhattan is the most famous, as the gathering spot for the Seinfeld gang.
Sometimes you come across an inn that is so delightful, you feel like you’d like to move right in. That’s exactly the experience we had at the 1837 Cobblestone Cottage Bed and Breakfast in up-state New York. Canaddaigua is both a town and a “finger” lake located just south of Rochester NY, about a five 1/2 hour drive from Boston straight out Rt 90 – the Mass Pike.
Lake Erie Wine Country stretches for 50 miles along the southeastern edge of Lake Erie (Erie, PA to Chautauqua County in up-state New York) and wine tasting is just one of the awesome activities that attract in-the-know travelers to this bucolic corner of America.
What’s that you say….you never heard of it? Well, I suspect everyone has been trying to keep it a secret for themselves. Come along as we discover what makes this region a fun and “spirited” getaway destination well worth discovering.

Play Fair in New York Is The Ultimate Play and Toy Experience, Consider It The Willy Wonka of Toys and Play
In early February, WickedGoodTravelTips was invited to attend the first annual Play Fair and Toy Fair (http://playfairny.com and http://toyfairny.com) at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. With my husband and son in tow, I headed to Manhattan on the coldest day of the year so far. This experience was like being a kid in a candy store, but instead of candy, there were toys, play activities, and everyone’s favorite characters from favorite shows, plus so much more. If you have children, this is one event you won’t want to miss.
