The 17th Annual Mt. Washington Inn to Inn Cookie and Candy Tour makes a perfect pre-Christmas weekend getaway. Just think about what an indulgent opportunity this is; shop for holiday gifts at famed North Conway New Hampshire (tax free) outlet stores and nibble your way around the 13 Country Inns in the White Mountains. Wow, talk about giving yourself an early gift for the holidays!
This two-day event is part Country Inn tour, part sweet sampling of original cookie and candy creations, and part tour of inspirational holiday decorations. The tour takes place on Saturday and Sunday, December 14 & 15, 2013 from 11am to 4pm each day. The inns are all located within 15 minutes of each other, making it an enjoyable ramble through the scenic Mt. Washington Valley. Each Inn is decked out in their holiday finery and prepares two cookie or candy confections to sample, a gingerbread creation to vote on, and printed recipe cards to take home.
Tickets of $27 per person must be purchased in advance and sell out quickly (800-338-1356). The best way to guarantee that you will have tickets to the Cookie and Candy Tour is to reserve a one or two night lodging package at one of the inns. Many special Inn Packages are available that weekend and all include 2 tickets to the Inn to Inn tour, recipe collection, commemorative ornament and other treats.
Inns participating in the tour this year include the Darby Field Inn in Albany; Riverbend Inn and Brass Heart Inn in Chocorua; Inn at Crystal Lake and Pub in Eaton; Covered Bridge House in Glen; Notchland Inn in Hart’s Location; Glen Oaks Inn in Intervale; Inn at Ellis River in Jackson; 1785 Inn & Restaurant; Eastman Inn, Old Red Inn & Cottages in North Conway, Snowvillage Inn in Snowville, and Admiral Peary Inn Bed & Breakfast in nearby Fryeburg, Maine.
So link arms with your sweetie and head off to the fabulously beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire for a unforgettable weekend that is sure to become a treasured pre-holiday tradition.
