Don’t put away the bikini and suntan lotion just yet!  One of my favorite spots for romance on the beach, Old Bahama Bay on Grand Bahama Island, has a very temping fall travel promotion.

Old Bahama Bay

From now through the end of October, this elegant intimate resort has reduced rates to just $150 per night with the 3rd night free!  Trust me, a few days at this resort will soothe you into a state of total relaxation.  If you’ve always thought of Grand Bahama Island as a spot for massive resorts and t-shirt shops, take a ride to the West End where the traditions of the old Bahamian lifestyle are still celebrated.

I find OBB to be totally charming – a secluded resort village hugging a crystal clear cove where there’s nothing more important to do than watch the yachts come and go and wriggle your toes in the warm soft sand. The resort is comprised of pastel colored two story Key West style villas all facing the waterfront or marina.  You’ll find beachfront junior suites that feature efficiency kitchens, large marble bath, balcony or patio, as well as one and two bedroom units that a perfect for families.  The beach is NEVER crowded and the bay’s gentle waves make it ideal for swimming and kayaking.  And I love their two-tiered infinity pool.  For those wanting a bit more adventure, the resort is now a Guy Harvey Outpost Expedition property, which means everyone is passionate about fishing and diving.  Here’s my full trip report review.

Old Bahama Bay Resort & Yatch Harbour is located just 56 miles east of Palm Beach Florida, at the West End tip of Grand Bahama Island (you may know it as Freeport), which makes it an ideal quick getaway location.  In fact, lots of folks come over by boat, so there’s also a dockage deal of just $1.00 per foot for your yacht.  It’s easy to catch a connecting flight from Ft. Lauderdale or even come by the Bahamas Ferry Express.

Vacationers booking a 6 night air-inclusive stay also qualify for a $300 instant savings credit. Pretty great stuff!
