If you need wheelchair assistance when flying…. don’t choose Delta!  The Department of Transportation has levied a fine of $2 million against Delta for failing “many times” to assist fliers with disabilities appropriately.  This is the largest penalty imposed by the DOT against an air carrier.  Investigations found that not only did Delta fail to assist fliers who needed wheelchair assistance (leaving passengers unattended for more than 30 minutes), but also failed to respond in an appropriate manner to complaints.  Seems Delta needs to focus more and their customers than on raising their fees, or they won’t have customers left to charge the fees to!
