Take a trip-of-a-lifetime to the majestic hill towns of Tuscany and see Andrea Bocelli in concert in his hometown of Lajatico. You’ve no doubt seen the concert video (shown on PBS during pledge season) of Andrea Bocelli singing for friends in the courtyard of an ancient Tuscan village and imagined yourself there.  Well your chance may be at hand thanks to a premier travel company, Italy’s Finest, who has put together a spectacular long weekend tour of Tuscany which includes tickets to the sunset concert by Bocelli at the “Teatro del Silenzio” in his hometown.  The venue was constructed as an open air amphitheater the comes to life just once a year in July for a one night concert and remains silent for the remainder of the year.  Andrea Bocelli agreed to perform a one night concert each July for 5 years, making 2010 the 5th and final performance in his hometown.

The gala weekend planned by Italy’s Finest runs from July 22-26, 2010, and includes a long weekend stay at the dramatically beautiful Castello del Nero Hotel in the heart of Chianti. Guests will enjoy weekend activities including a VIP visit to the Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona winery in Montaicino (can they fit all that on the label??), a savory dinner prepared by Michelin Star-rated chef Marcello Crini, and tour of the Accademia in Florence with a renowned art historian to see Michelangelo’s David.  Additional optional tours include hot air ballooning, a helicopter tour, a whole day driving your choice of an Italian “Supercar”, or perhaps a chance to design  your own personal fragrance or wine.  But of course the ultimate experience will be attending the emotional Bocelli concert in his own hometown, surrounded by friends, family and fans.  As you might expect, the concert has been sold out for months so it’s a real coup to find tickets coupled with a deluxe weekend tour.  How much does all this cost?  We just don’t know – no prices were quoted in the PR release we received or on the website – although there is an email and phone contact for further information on the website.  But you can rest assured this once-in-a-lifetime, never to be repeated, tour will be worth every cent if you’re a lover of the lush life in Tuscany and the hauntingly beautiful voice of Andrea Bocelli.
